On Nov. 2, the Louisiana State University (LSU) Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (SCAAEP) will host Equi-Day at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. This event, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is designed to provide an opportunity for horse owners to learn about equine car, while supporting the LSU SCAAEP.
Registration includes attendance to all lectures and demonstrations, breakfast and lunch, an Equi-Day T-shirt, and entry into a grand prize drawing. Lecture and demonstration topics include equine lameness, basic critical care for emergency situations, equine chiropractic care and acupuncture, natural hoof care by Dick Fanguy, and more.
The deadline to pre-register is Oct. 12. Registration is $30 per person and proceeds support LSU SCAAEP activities, such as wet labs for students so they can get hands-on experience with ultrasound, dentistry, bandaging, stallion management, and more before they begin their hospital rotations.
