WVU Extension Horsemen’s Educational Day Helps Owners, Enthusiasts Learn

Horse owners and enthusiasts can expand their equine knowledge April 9 at the Horsemen’s Educational Day at the West Virginia University (WVU) Animal and Nutritional Sciences Farm in Morgantown. The event, which is sponsored by WVU Extension Service, will last from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. EDT.
Planned sessions that will consist of both classroom and hands-on instruction include horse health, nutrition and body condition scoring, parasite control, hoof care, manure management, and horse training for all disciplines.
Speakers for the event include:
- Winnie Masset, DVM, veterinarian and master farrier from West Virginia Equine Services;
- Holly Spooner, PhD, WVU Extension assistant professor and horse specialist; and
- Scott Bowridge, PhD, of the WVU Division of Animal and Nutritional Sciences.
