Stephanie L. Church has been named Editor-in-Chief of The Horse, and will lead all editorial initiatives for both print and digital media platforms. Stephanie succeeds Kimberly S. Brown, who has left the company to pursue other business interests.

Stephanie graduated cum laude from Averett College (now University) in Danville, Va., in May 1999, with degrees in Journalism and Equestrian studies. She joined The Horse in the summer of 1999, rising through the editorial ranks as Editorial Assistant, Staff Writer, News Editor, Copy/Features Editor and, most recently, Managing Editor-Print. She has earned numerous awards from American Horse Publications, including Best Feature Article for her coverage of the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Working in new media, Stephanie collaborated with University of Kentucky equine researchers to launch "Horse Courses," online video educational sessions based on diagnostic-research lectures presented 11 times a year
