We Don’t Make This Stuff Up

It always amazes me that people call or e-mail us about news items and articles and want us to change the facts because they don’t like them. I try really hard to explain that we use credible sources and have expert proofers read all of the in-depth articles. That’s not to say we can’t get something wrong; we’re human. But in the vast majority of cases, the facts are correct, it’s just that the reader doesn’t like the information.
We are always willing to go back and check facts, and we appreciate our many horse owners, veterinarians, researchers, and other professionals who keep us on our toes! I really miss the librarian/avid horsewoman who used to correct our grammar on occasion!
And as I said, we do occasionally get things wrong. For example, years ago I had a veterinarian call and ask me to turn to a certain page in The Horse magazine. It was the opening of an article about fluid therapy in horses.
"What do you see wrong on this page?" he asked
