Alabama Barn Fire Kills Tennessee Walking Horses

An early morning barn fire claimed the lives of more than 20 Tennessee Walking Horses in Alabama earlier this week.
Stephen Young, public information officer for the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, said deputies responded to a call about the fire on Sept. 4. By the time emergency crews arrived, the barn housing the show horses was completely engulfed in flames, he said.
“We’re told that 25 horses were killed in the fire,” Young said.
Another 10 animals, including mares and foals, that in paddocks survived the blaze
