Horses Seized in Illinois Cruelty Case

More than 30 horses are receiving rehabilitative care after being seized in Kane County, Ill.
Kane County Animal Control Director Robert Saucedo said the Kane County Sheriff's Department responded to a call regarding a dead horse on a property near Maple Park on Feb. 26. During the investigation, sheriff's deputies and animal control personnel discovered the remains of a mare and an equine fetus.
"After she aborted the fetus she pushed her head through a fence trying to get to some grass," Saucedo said.
Later, acting on a warrant, Saucedo said, authorities personnel found the remains of two Miniature Horses, a donkey, and several other animals, along with numerous living animals, at a property near Hampshire, Ill
