Days End Farm Horse Rescue of Woodbine, Md., is racing to secure votes in a national online shelter challenge sponsored by Petfinder. First prize in the nationwide challenge is $20,000, with a $1,000 prize for first place in the state of Maryland. Last year Days End placed 10th in the nation and was awarded $2,000.
The farm intends to use the prize money to pay for grain and hay to sustain horses recovering from neglect and abuse.
“It’s really simple–one click of your mouse, every single day, will help starving horses,” said Susan Mitchell, development director for the farm. “Just ask your friends to vote each day and bring Days End one step closer to a much needed $20,000 prize.”
To participate, go to defhr.org and click on Vote Every Day. Voting ends at midnight July 26. Days End Farm Horse Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization
