AAEP Offers New Veterinary Continuing Education Courses

Equine respiratory disease, care of sport horses, and training in dentistry and stallion reproduction are the subjects of the American Association of Equine Practitioners' expanded 2010 series of summer continuing education meetings. The seminars will give equine veterinarians more opportunities to refresh skills and undertake new endeavors.
Focus on Upper and Lower Respiratory Diseases (July 18-20 in Salt Lake City, Utah) will demonstrate fast, effective approaches to diagnosing and managing upper and lower respiratory diseases. The program will include exploration of airway obstructions, strangles, pneumonia, heaves, and other related diseases, as well as the anatomy and function of the lower and upper airways. Focus is sponsored by AAEP Educational Partner Bayer Healthcare Animal Health.
360° Meetings: Stallion Reproduction or Equine Dentistry (Aug. 10-13 in College Station, Texas) will provide full-circle approaches to the clinical practice of equine dentistry and stallion reproduction. AAEP members who register for a 360° meeting will receive one complimentary registration for the AAEP 56th Annual Convention, Dec. 4-8. The 360° meetings are sponsored by AAEP Educational Partner Boehringer Ingelheim.
Veterinary Sport Horse Symposium (Sept. 22-24 in Lexington, Ky.,) will be held in conjunction with the World Equestrian Games and will address such equine athletic concerns as lameness, hoof wall defects, nutrition, and muscle disease. The Symposium is presented in partnership with Alltech and Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital
