Law enforcement authorities are seeking those responsible for a series of sniper attacks on horses in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

The horses' owners discovered the animals wounded in their pastures in May and early June. Each horse had been shot with a high-powered rifle, said Sgt. Michael LaVallie of the Ticonderoga Police Department. All the horses are expected to recover.

If caught, those responsible could face charges of felony aggravated animal cruelty, LaVallie said.

Anyone with information about the incidents should call the Ticonderoga Police Department tip line at 518/585-3080
