The American Youth Horse Council would like to cordially invite submissions to speak at the 2001 National Youth Horse Leaders Symposium at the Doubletree Hotel, Colorado Springs, CO February 2-4, 2001.
This annual event presents an opportunity for all leaders in the youth horse industry to come together to learn, network, share ideas and grow as an industry. The symposium is presented by the American Youth Horse Council, a network of academic, breed, industry and other representatives interested in facilitating the flow of horse related educational and promotional resources for youth. AYHC’s mission includes a dedication to the promotion of youth leadership and responsible equine management practices.
Priority will be given to new presentations, particularly innovative or unique ideas which have not been previously presented. All abstracts will be peer reviewed by distinguished members of the AYHC Symposium Committee. Presentations can be in, but are not limited to the following categories:
- Innovative Youth Programming
- Youth Leadership/Character Development
- Youth Issue Forums
- Traditional Youth Programming
- How to teach Youth Horse Management and Care
- Educational/Career Programs
We target three audiences: Adult Leaders, mostly volunteers who are directly working with youth in the field; Youth Industry Professionals, those who have been in the business for a time or are employed in the youth horse industry( such as Extension Specialists and Breed Association Youth Program Coordinators); and Youth Leaders older teens and college students, focusing on leadership
