Pamela Wilkins, DVM, MS, PhD, Dipl. ACVIM, ACVECC, a professor at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine since 2008, was honored at the 15th World Equine Veterinary Association (WEVA) Congress, held in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, in April. She received the Boehringer-Ingelheim WEVA Applied Research Award.

The award included the opportunity to present an invited lecture. Wilkins spoke on “L-Lactate – What You Didn’t Know.”

“Pam’s lecture was fascinating and really captured the essence of utilizing science for the betterment of veterinary medicine,” noted Kate Savage, BVSc(Hons), MS, PhD, Dipl.
