  1. I have a loosely woven cooler made of cotton cord that I have used for years as a cooling device. I put it on as a “base”, and throw a day sheet or blanket over it (weight depending on the weather). The cooler holds the weight of the top cover away from the horse’s body until it has a chance to dry.
