Shooting Ruled Out in Miniature Horse Death

A Miniature Horse found dead in a pond in Boaz, Alabama, was neither shot nor skinned, according to the animal’s necropsy results.
Last month, a worker at the Hi Pine Farm discovered the horse’s carcass in a pond on the farm’s property. The caller who reported the horse’s death to police believed the animal appeared to have been shot and skinned. As part of the Boaz Police Department’s investigation, the horse’s remains were sent to Auburn University for necropsy.
Results revealed that there was no foul play connected to the horse’s death, said Boaz Police Department Deputy Chief Josh Gaskin.
“According to the necropsy, the horse was not skinned and it was not shot, and the notes say there is no reason to believe there was any foul play,” Gaskin said
