Does your saddle fit your horse? In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers if they have ever had a professional saddle fitter evaluate their horses and tack. More than 800 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results! 

Of the 843 respondents, 393 individuals (47%) responded yes, they have had a professional saddle fitter evaluate their horses and tack. Of those, 160 respondents (19%) said they have their saddle fit on a regular basis, while 175 people (21%) use a saddle fitter when they think their horse’s tack isn’t fitting properly. Another 58 respondents (7%) had a saddler come and evaluate their tack when they get a new horse.

Another 254 respondents said they have not had their horses and tack evaluated by a professional saddle fitter, but would like to, while 152 individuals (18%) said they feel comfortable fitting their horses’ tack themselves. Finally, 44 people (5%) gave other responses.
