Lil Ruf Peppy Becomes a Three Million Dollar Sire

After becoming a Two Million Dollar Sire in 2009, Lil Ruf Peppy, owned by Lil Ruf Peppy Syndicate, has now become the National Reining Horse Association’s (NRHA) ninth Three Million Dollar Sire with official NRHA offspring earnings of over $3,006,100. This puts him alongside the likes of reining legends Hollywood Dun It, Smart Chic Olena, Shining Spark, and Gallo Del Cielo.

The 1991 Quarter Horse stallion is by Peppy San Badger and out of Rufas Peppy (by Mr San Peppy). He has $28,000 in NRHA lifetime earnings that includes his 1995 NRHA Derby Limited Open Championship with NRHA Professional Tom McCutcheon at the reins.

His top-earning offspring include:

  • Rufanicki (out of Chexanicki): $144,600 NRHA lifetime earnings, owned by Shaunda Ruckman; 2010 National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC) Level 4 Non-Pro and NRHA Derby Level 4 Open finalist; 2011 NRBC Level 1-Level 4 Non-Pro and NRHA Derby Level 1-Level 4 Non-Pro Champion; 2012 NRHA Derby Level 4 Non-Pro finalist.
  • Sailin Ruf (out of Pinesail): $136,000 NRHA lifetime earnings, owned by Giovanni Cioli; 2001 NRHA Futurity Level 4 Open finalist, 2002 NRHA Derby Level 4 Open finalist, 2003 NRHA Derby Level 4 Open finalist.
  • Ruf Hearted Jac (out of Miss Jac Of Hearts): $107,200 NRHA lifetime earnings, owned by Turnabout Farm Inc.; 2002 NRHA Futurity Open finalist, 2003 NRBC Open finalist, 2004 NRBC Open finalist, 2005 NRBC Open finalist, 2006 Mallorca Western Festival Category 1 Open Top Five.
