Eclipse Fundraiser to Help Thoroughbred Aftercare Program

As host of this year’s Eclipse Awards ceremony, Gulfstream Park, in Hallandale, Fla., has expanded the menu of activities surrounding the main event. Among them is a cocktail party fundraiser benefiting Gulfstream Park’s Thoroughbred Aftercare Program.
"Gulfstream Park and The Stronach Group are extremely proud to host the ‘Celebration of the Thoroughbred’ in conjunction with our other fundraising activities during Eclipse Award week," said Gulfstream president Tim Ritvo. "Thoroughbred aftercare is a priority for everyone at Gulfstream and The Stronach Group."
Started in 2011, the track’s aftercare program matches retired racehorses with owners who will make a lifelong commitment to their health, safety, and well being.
The Celebration of the Thoroughbred event, which will take place Jan. 18 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Gulfstream Park walking ring, will include a live and silent auction featuring equine art; breeding opportunities to top sires Kitten’s Joy and Ghostzapper; six tickets to the U.S. Open Tennis Championship; trips to the 2013 Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Santa Anita Park, in Arcadia, Calif.; a basketball autographed by Miami Heat President Pat Riley; two-night stays at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa (the official hotel of the Eclipse Awards), Hollywood Beach Marriott, and Chesapeake Resort; a case of Kendall Jackson Wine; and a limited edition Peb art box and Fred Stone canvas print
