The Society for Theriogenology’s 2013 Conference starts today (Aug. 7) and continues through Saturday (Aug. 10) at the Seelbach Hilton Louisville in Louisville, Ky. A specialized equine symposium occures today, and the general conference will take place Friday and Saturday.

During Wednesday’s symposium, speakers will cover topics pertinent to mare and foal care, including antibiotic therapy, parasite control, and Rhodococcus equi, among others. Equine lecture topics during the general conference include pain’s effect on reproduction, acupuncture, placentitis, metabolic disease’s effect on reproduction, and semen tests, among others.
