2012 Laminitis Conference brings together Vets, Farriers

Hurricane Sandy threatened to ground East Coast-based presenters and participants of the 2012 International Equine Conference on Laminitis and Diseases of the Hoof (IECLDH) this past weekend.
Fortunately, said IECLDH Co-Director James Orsini, DVM, of University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center, everyone made it to Monterey, Calif., in time for the two-day conference dedicated to educating veterinarians, farriers, and owners about laminitis, general podiatry, diagnostics, and treatments.
This year’s event, titled "The Equine Limb: Advanced Treatments and Diagnostics," took place Nov . 2-3, 2012, at the Monterey Conference Center. Steinbeck Country Equine Clinic in nearby Salinas, Calif., also hosted a half day of hands-on wet lab sessions
