The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses (CANTER), will open a chapter in California in June of 2008. The program will offer owners and trainers of California’s Thoroughbred racehorses free Internet sale listings available to the general public through its Web site: www.canterusa.org/california.

The CANTER program has been a huge success in Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New England, and the Mid Atlantic area.

“We are beginning to take listings of horses for sale at Golden Gate Park, and then expand into other tracks where we are needed,” said Nancy Koch, executive director.

For more information about the new California chapter and volunteer program, or for information about other CANTER chapters, visit the CANTER Web site.
