Woman Pleads Guilty in Horse Starvation Deaths
Under a plea agreement, Flathead County prosecutors will recommend that 32-year-old Tina
A former Columbia Falls, Mont., woman has pleaded guilty to one count of felony aggravated cruelty to animals for the starvation deaths of 6 horses.
Under a plea agreement, Flathead County prosecutors will recommend that 32-year-old Tina Pickton be given a three-month suspended prison sentence. She would also have to perform 200 hours of community service and be banned from owning another animal.
Sentencing is scheduled for November.
Pickton was arrested in February after deputies investigated reports of dead horses in pasture Pickton was leasing. Authorities found six dead horses and two malnourished horses, one of which was later put down
