According to an article on St. Louis’ STLtoday.com, fireworks set off at Busch Stadium last night (Oct. 27) startled a police horse, causing it to buck off its rider. The celebratory fireworks were launched as the Cardinals game ended, at which time the horse and its rider were in a parking lot at Broadway and Market Street.
“The officer was bloodied from a gash on her face and taken away in an ambulance,” said the article, which mentioned the officer’s name was not released.
The article reported the officer was conscious and walking around before she was taken to the hospital. One of the horse’s legs was bandaged before it was transported for treatment.
