A group of Louisiana State University and Idaho State University students are volunteering their time to give owners personal help in searching for their pets. If you or someone you know needs assistance in searching the Animal Emergency Response Network (AERN) for a pet lost during the hurricanes, please contact the student team by e-mail at katrinapets1@gmail.com.
When you e-mail them please provide:
- Your current contact information (name, current address, phone number, and e-mail address)
- Address where your pet was left or last seen
- A complete description of your pet (breed, sex, color, distinguishing marks, coat length, tail, ears, etc.)
- Provide any information on any identification your pet had (rabies tag#, microchip #, tattoo, id tag, collar type and color, etc.)
The student team will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your email and will begin the search process. You can also go to www.petfinder.com or www.vetmed.lsu.edu for information about lost Katrina pets
