shkerLocated in Harrodsburg, just outside Lexington, is the charming and beautiful Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill. Founded in 1805, this National Historic Landmark is not only a place to go for a taste of old Shaker culture, but a place to get out and hike, bike, and of course, trail ride.

While there is no public stable with horses to rent on Shaker Village grounds, equestrians are more than welcome to trailer in their own mounts to explore the 33 miles of horseback-riding trails. There are also 15 miles of carriage-friendly trails. A fully-equipped 20-stall barn is available for overnight boarding adjacent to the Inn at Shaker Village.
