The United States Equestrian Federation, in its role as equestrian sports’ national governing body in this country, has announced the “nominated entries” (aka long lists) for several of the eight International Equestrian Federation (FEI) disciplines, which will be represented at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games

Over the next eight weeks, the nominated entries will be whittled down to the “definite entries” — the team and individual horse/rider combinations that will compete at the WEG, September 25-October 10 in Lexington, Kentucky. In the case of most disciplines, short-listed horses and riders must participate in one more competition or selection trial, after which the WEG teams will be named.

Teams generally constitute four horses and riders (or teams of horses and drivers, in the case of the driving discipline), with a fifth named the reserve pair. The reserve horse and rider will travel to Lexington with the team but will not compete unless a team member must withdraw, as in the case of illness or injury.

Here’s how the lists (competitors, ages, hometowns; and horses, ages, breeds, and owners where available shown below) are shaping up thus far
