During the recent fires in California, horse owner and full-time wildlife photographer Frank Hendriks ventured into the hills to chronicle the fears and victories of the area’s horses and horse owners. Below you will see a collection of his San Diego Firestorm images.

Hendriks, who has been a professional nature and wildlife photographer for 16 years, is selling copies of these images individually or on a CD to benefit those groups who helped rescue horses during this tragic disaster. If you are interested in purchasing any of these images to benefit those organizations, visit Hendrik’s web site, www.fwhendriks.com/SDFire.html.

Hendriks is slowly shifting his photography focus to horses and horse events and competitions. He says his reining horse Tucker is his guide and inspiration to do more equine photography
