Safe Haven Horse Rescue will host For the Love of Horses, a benefit dinner and wine tasting on June 12 at 6 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Hilton Sacramento Arden West Hotel.

The event, to be held in conjunction with the June 11-13 Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, Calif., will include dinner, a silent auction, wine tasting, live music by Buck Ford and his Pure Country Band, and a public raffle with grand prizes of $5,000 cash or a four-stall barn. Safe Haven is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization in Cottonwood, Calif., dedicated to the rescue and care of abused and neglected horses. It has aided in the adoption of more than 2,000 horses, dogs, and other farm animals in California. One of its recent success stories, the former racehorse Excessorized, will be available to meet media and horse lovers at the Western States Horse Expo at Barns by Harrahs Pavilion.
