Miami Beach Lounge Where Horse Made Appearance to Reopen

The club’s owners admitted to municipal violations, agreed to pay $12,150, and will make a $10,000 donation to an area horse rescue.

A Florida night club shuttered after a bikini-clad woman rode a horse onto the dance floor is slated to reopen this week under an agreement between the bar owners and the City of Miami Beach.

The incident took place earlier this month at Mokai Lounge, in Miami Beach. The animal became panicked by the crowded club’s noise and lights and eventually threw the rider.

Miami Beach City Manager Jimmy Morales subsequently revoked the establishment’s license to do business on grounds that the incident had violated city health, welfare, and safety codes.

Mokai LLC appealed the revocation and, under an agreed order entered March 19, the City of Miami Beach “agreed to lift the suspension order, effective as of Wednesday, March 21
