The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Nevada’s Ely District Caliente Field Office concluded an emergency wild horse gather within and outside of the Eagle Herd Management Area (HMA) focused on the Fortification Range Wilderness.

The agency gathered and removed 300 wild horses.

The BLM said it conducted the gather, which ran from Sept. 13-21, due to lack of water to sustain the horses
