The 33rd Charles Heumphreus Memorial Lecture will take place Feb. 16 at the University of California, Davis (UC Davis) School of Veterinary Medicine (SVM).

This year’s event features farrier Tim Shannon, CJF, APF, AWCF, and veterinarian G. Marvin Beeman, DVM. Farriers and equine veterinarians are invited to attend the event, which takes place from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Morning lectures will be in Gladys Valley Hall on the SVM campus, and the afternoon demonstration will be in the Large Animal Clinic’s covered arena. Registration and a complete event schedule are available on the UC Davis website.

The Charles Heumphreus Memorial Lecture is an annual event that has been offered free to farriers and equine veterinarians since 1987 and is the SVM’s first endowed lecture. The endowment was founded by Tim O’Brien, DVM, PhD, UC Davis emeritus faculty radiologist, to honor Heumphreus’ 18 years as the UC Davis veterinary hospital farrier
