The American Association of Equine Practitioners‚ (AAEP) health seminar for horse owners—Horseman’s Day—will be held Sunday, November 25, 2001, in San Diego, Calif. Designed for those interested in equine health care, Horseman’s Day features leading veterinary experts delivering the latest news and advances in horse health.
Sponsored by the AAEP’s Educational Partners, Horseman’s Day offers six one-hour sessions, each featuring a question-and-answer period. The topics and speakers are:
- “Nutrition for the Lifetime of Your Horse.” Dr. Pete Gibbs, Texas A&M College of Animal and Life Sciences, College Station, Tex.
- “Colic–California Style.” Dr. Jack Snyder, University of California-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Davis, Calif.
- “Recognizing and Managing Equine Emergencies.” Dr. Gary Magdesian, University of California-Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, Davis, Calif. “What’s New in the Ongoing Struggle Against Founder.” Dr. William Moyer, Texas A&M College of Animal and Life Sciences, College Station, Texas.
- “Trailer Loading Made Easy.” Dr. Andy Anderson, Broken Arrow, Okla.
- “Is He Lame or is He Neurologic?” Dr. Barrie Grant, San Luis Rey Equine Hospital, Bonsall, Calif.
Horseman’s Day, which is being held in conjunction with the AAEP‚s 47th Annual Convention, will be held from 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the San Diego Convention Center, 111 W. Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego. The pre-registration fee is $45; on-site registration is $60.
