Equine event organizers are faced with the unique challenge of providing an environment in which owners and riders can compete with their horses, but which also promotes horse health and biosecurity. Sometimes, something as simple as a sign can help organizers in their mission.
Biosecurity Risk: Biosecurity practices could be disregarded without adequate signage, especially if owners aren’t aware of how to best protect their horses.
Biosecurity Fix: To inform all participants of biosecurity policies, post adequate signage.
And as always, owners, remember to provide a safe and healthy environment for your horse by practicing good biosecurity at your farm and while traveling
