The Palmetto Equine Awareness & Rescue League (PEARL) and the Anderson County sheriff’s office will present an equine awareness and safety seminar for law enforcement and first responders on June 21-22. This two-day seminar is specifically designed for law enforcement officers, animal control officers, and rescue workers.


The training will take place at the T. Ed Garrison Arena in Clemson, S.C.


On June 21, from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., instructors will focus on equine basics and safety and will deal with how to approach and handle aggressive and frightened horses safely and gently, as well as the basics of care and nutrition.


On June 22, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., instructors will focus on safety and trailer loading and will deal with how to catch, handle, and trailer the unwilling horse safely
