Big Brown Breezes Preakness Morning
Heavy Preakness (gr. I) favorite Big Brown worked two furlongs at Pimlico early this morning as he prepares to meet 11 opponents in the second jewel of racing’s Triple Crown.

Heavy Preakness (gr. I) favorite Big Brown worked two furlongs at Pimlico early this morning as he prepares to meet 11 opponents in the second jewel of racing’s Triple Crown.
With trainer Rick Dutrow watching from the rail at 5:40 a.m., the son of Boundary was on and off the track very quickly, with no warm up before the short breeze. Under regular rider Michelle Nevin, he galloped to the quarter pole and then went the two furlongs in :25 4/5.
Nevin just set the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I) winner down a bit, not even getting up enough steam for the colt to change leads. He stayed on his left lead the entire time.
Big Brown had his ears up and Nevin never moved on the unbeaten runner, who seeks his fifth straight victory in the Preakness
