Officials in Paisley, Fla., say four horses have died in Lake and Volusia counties from complications of the mosquito-borne Eastern equine encephalitis virus.


Health department officials say a horse in northeast Lake County died from the virus — which is transmitted by mosquitoes and can possibly infect humans.


Three other horses have died from the disease in Volusia County since the beginning of the year
