The Horse: Your Guide To Equine Health Care is looking for two strong journalism/equine science interns to round out its editorial staff for the summer. These individuals will earn valuable experience in both print and electronic editorial production at the country’s premier equine publishing house, Blood-Horse Publications.
Candidates should have practical hands-on horse knowledge and experience and a desire to help owners take better care of their horses. Course experience should include college-level English, communications, and/or journalism.
Interns will assist staff members with the flow of editorial copy through the magazine production process, from brainstorming content to photo selection. They also will become familiar with online content management and production of electronic products.
Candidates should be comfortable working in Word, Excel, and Explorer, and they should be familiar with basic HTML. A preference is given to candidates proficient in Adobe’s Creative Suite (InCopy, InDesign). They should be prepared to work as team players in a professional office environment
