Rich In Dallas, one of the equine stars of the 2003 blockbuster film Seabiscuit, will attend the second annual charity horse show to benefit The Exceller Fund. The event will be held Oct. 28 at the Patrick Henry Girls Home in Rustburg, Va.
Acquired by The Exceller Fund in 2004, Rich In Dallas was a hard-running claiming horse before being selected to star as Seabiscuit in the movie.
Today he excels in his job as “ambassador” to the public, demonstrating the talents and versatility of the off-the-track Thoroughbred. Dallas’s recent appearances include the Equine Affaire in Columbus, Ohio, as well as competing in and performing daily “Seabiscuit” presentations at the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program’s Charity horse show. Dallas will close out the year with a repeat performance in the Celebrity Horse Showcase at the Equine Affaire in West Springfield, Mass., Nov. 9-12.
The show is open to all levels and breeds and will feature both English and Western events. In addition to competing in certain classes, Dallas will also make a half-time appearance in his Seabiscuit silks and be available for pictures with the public
