Reports from WHDH-TV in New England (https://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO38046/) and the BostonHerald.com (https://news.bostonherald.com/localRegional/view.bg?articleid=173878) stated that Pit Bull dogs killed a 4-year-old Miniature Horse on Dec. 19 and attacked a 29-year-old full-sized horse on the same farm in Uxbridge, Mass. The TV station’s Web site has a video interview with the owner of the animals.

The report from WHDH-TV said Lulu, the Mini, was “mutilated, killed, dead,” according to owner Kathleen Borghesi. Bucky, the full-sized horse, had 18 wounds on his neck, required intravenous treatment, and was on oral medication. Lulu had been a Christmas present four years ago for Borghesi’s daughter Kaili, according to WHDH-TV.

The owner originally thought coyotes had attacked her horses, but four days after the attack the owner’s 81-year-old father went out to find two Pit Bull dogs in the pen after Bucky. He was able to chase them away.

The dogs have not been located, and the police are investigating, according to the reports. The Uxbridge Police have not responded to a phone inquiry from TheHorse.com
