I fully intended to post this little video several days ago, but powerful storms and a subsequent power outage interfered with my plans.

I couldn’t make a trip to Lexington, Kentucky, for the 2010 American Horse Publications seminar without attempting to bring you a look at the state of the Kentucky Horse Park and its plans for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. The video below was filmed June 20, just three days after the “100-day countdown” celebrations and press conference (listen and watch a slideshow in my last blog post).

About a week after this footage was taken, the “build-out” at the Horse Park started, meaning that the construction of the temporary structures that will be used at the WEG — everything from temporary stadium seating to the press center — has begun. So if I were to go back to the KHP today, things would look a bit different already; but this 3-plus-minute video highlights most of the major venues and explains how they’ll be used for the WEG.
