Old Friends will hold a special open house for champion, dual classic winner, and Hall of Famer Silver Charm, who is to arrive this week at the Thoroughbred retirement center in Georgetown, Kentucky, after standing at stud in Japan.
The open house will be held Tuesday, Dec. 2, from 1-2 p.m. EST. The 20-year-old son of Silver Buck out of Bonnie's Poker, by Poker, will then enter a 21-day quarantine period.
Three Chimneys Farm announced in October that the 1997 champion 3-year-old male had been retired from breeding in Japan and would be return to the United States to live out his life at Old Friends
The decision about his retirement was a joint venture among Three Chimneys, Silver Charm's owners Jeff and Beverly Lewis, and the Japan Bloodhorse Breeders' Association (JBBA). Silver Charm stood his initial five seasons at Three Chimneys in Midway, Kentucky, before moving to the JBBA Shizunai Stallion Station prior to the 2005 breeding season
