As the temperatures drop and winter approaches, many horse owners are faced with the never-ending debate—should my horse wear a blanket? In last week’s online poll, we asked our readers if they planned to blanket their horse this winter. More than 1,500 people responded and we’ve tallied the results!

Of the 1,531 respondents, 650 (42%) said they plan on blanketing their horses only during inclement weather, while 452 (30%) said their horse would wear a blanket throughout the winter. The remaining 429 respondents (28%) said they do not blanket their horse.

Additionally, more than 200 people left comments about their blanketing plans for the upcoming winter.
