After the Finish Line will hold its 2010 annual charity fundraiser, "A Tribute to the Majesty of Thoroughbreds," on Aug. 5 in Del Mar, Calif. The reception and dinner will include silent and live auctions.

Jack Van Berg, Hall of Fame trainer of Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Alysheba, will be the auctioneer at the fundraiser. Van Berg became the first trainer to win 5,000 races on July 15, 1987, when he sent Art's Chandelle to victory at Arlington Park.

The fundraiser will be held from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Hilton Hotel across the street from the Del Mar racetrack.

After the Finish Line is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization designed to help transition Thoroughbreds off the racetrack into a second career. Donations help support Thoroughbreds at rescue organizations across the US while they await adoption. For further information, visit www.afterthefinishline.org
