Obesogenic. Now there’s a fat word.

It’s a trending new term that describes a developing “equine first-world” problem: the fact that so many things in horses’ lives cause them to gain weight.

Like humans, many equids living in the developed world are battling obesity. Or, rather, their owners are battling it for them. And one British researcher says those owners are finding significant barriers to battling this emerging issue
