  1. I always read horses travel best in a straight load. I prefer a straight load. Easy and safest to load. Send the horse in, clip in butt bar and then tie horse without danger of being banged into a wall. I only have a 3h slant load so I can travel with my driving horse and load my marathon vehicle in the trailer. I did have a 2h straight load for local rides. AS far as hitching to me both are equally easy to hitch. If I quit driving, I will go back to a 2h straight load.

  2. The real question is WHY do you prefer one trailer over another? Why HUMANS like a trailer would be for very different reasons than why HORSES like a trailer… not a fair question to mix them.

Is it because of perceived safety? Is it because horses load into them easier? Is it because it is easier to hitch and drive? Is it because you have never had an accident with it? Is it because it is comfortable for the horse to ride in? Is it because it is easier to maintain?

    Thank you – Dr. Husted
