Automatic waterers can help eliminate some of the extra work during barn chores, like dragging hoses and breaking ice in water buckets during the winter. But just like many other types of farm equipment, there are several different brands to chose from.

In last week’s poll, we asked our readers which brand of automatic waterer they used or were most familiar with. More than 300 people responded, and we’ve tallied the results!  

Of the 338 respondents, 121 (36%) said they use or are most familiar with Ritchie waterers, while 97 individuals (28%) use or are most familiar with Nelson waterers. Some 19 respondents (6%) said they’re most familiary with Bar-Bar-A waterers, and 10 people (3%) selected Miraco waterers as their most familiar brand. The remaining 91 respondents (27%) chose “other” brands or forms of waterers for their horses.
