Squishy the donkey is relaxing in a pasture after walking down a busy roadway and catching a ride with a Norman, Oklahoma, police officer.

Sarah Jensen, public information officer for the Norman police department, said Officer Kyle Canaan responded to a call about a donkey on the loose along a busy thoroughfare on Dec. 1.

“The road where he was found is very rural and the speed limit is about 55 miles per hour,” Jensen said. “We were concerned not only with the donkey’s safety, but also with the safety of drivers on that road.”

Upon arrival, Canaan found a woman at the roadside holding the Miniature Donkey’s halter
