The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) will return to the West Coast in 2012 for its 58th Annual Convention, Dec. 1-5 in Anaheim, Calif.

Attracting nearly 6,000 veterinarians, students, technicians, and exhibitors, the AAEP Convention is the world’s largest educational event dedicated to equine veterinary medicine. During this five-day meeting, equine veterinarians will attend educational sessions, discuss current issues affecting horse health, and find new tools for their veterinary practices at the annual trade show.

Emphasizing the importance of essential skills for the daily practice of veterinary medicine, the 2012 Educational Program provides sessions relevant to every practitioner, at every level of expertise. Sessions will cover important topics including joint therapies, developments in medicine, the anatomy of the equine foot, critical field emergencies, ultrasound techniques, orphan foal care, reproductive challenges, and more. Three dry lab sessions on Dec. 5 will allow veterinarians to explore dermatology, advanced dentistry, and ophthalmology.

Home to the original Disneyland theme park established in 1955, Anaheim captivates its guests with family entertainment, dining, shopping, world-famous coastlines, including Newport Beach and Laguna Beach. Convention attendees are eligible for discounted ticket prices to two Disney theme parks. For more information about entertainment in Anaheim, visit www.anaheimoc.org/aaep12
