Thoroughbred trainer Todd Pletcher has elected to include his personal “package” of stallion seasons for 2007 in the Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) Stallion Season and Art Auction, which will begin on Nov. 27 and conclude with a live auction at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky., on Dec. 1. The live auction will be conducted by Fasig Tipton auctioneers.

Included in the live auction will be seasons to stallions such as Bluegrass Cat, Mr. Greeley, Songandaprayer, Unbridled’s Song, and Vindication. Proceeds of the auction will be distributed by TCA to about 150 organizations involved with racehorse rescue and retraining, backstretch aid (including scholarships), handicap riding, and equine research.

This is the 17th annual TCA event, which raised $1.9 million last year, making TCA the largest Thoroughbred charity in the country. The event, previously held at Candyland Farm in Delaware, contributes more than 93 cents of every dollar raised to charity.

TCA President Herb Moelis said, “It is truly gratifying to see a person of Todd Pletcher’s status focus on helping others in the industry, both horses and people less fortunate. We hope others will follow his lead”.
