University of Kentucky (UK) Ag Equine Programs will host its 11th Pastures Please!! pasture maintenance workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. EDT on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at the Scott County Extension Office, 1130 Cincinnati Road in Georgetown, Kentucky.

The event is free, and snacks will be provided prior to the event by McCauley’s Feeds.

Horse owners, farm owners, and farm managers will have the opportunity to listen to several informative talks from forage extension specialists about seeding, weeding, pasture maintenance, and general pasture management.

“The Pastures Please program has impacted a multitude of people involved in the equine industry by teaching pasture management methods and practices that extend the grazing season and reduce the need for purchased forage,” said Michelle Simon, Scott County Extension Agent. “The 2018 program will focus heavily on reestablishment and weed control, both of which provide environments for healthier, better producing horses.
