The Horse Media Group received four awards June 18 during the American Horse Publications’ (AHP) Equine Media Awards presentations, held at the organization’s 2016 seminar in Orlando, Florida. Of those four, two came in the same class in which TheHorse.com was the sole entity recognized for excellence.

Held since 1974, the AHP annual contest provides members an opportunity to be recognized for their accomplishments in equine publishing. This year’s contest for material published in 2015 drew a total of 770 entries from 98 members. TheHorse.com was the only website recognized in the.“Online Equine-Related Long-Form Journalism” class.

TheHorse.com longforms are in-depth special features covering various equine health topics, each enriched with visual and interactive components. From video clips and clickable maps to decision trees and infographics, these features provide hands-on horse owners and equine professionals with educational information in an easy-to-use and entertaining format.

The contributing editorial team included digital managing editor Michelle Anderson, editor-in-chief Stephanie L. Church, managing editor Alexandra Beckstett, and news editor Erica Larson
