California EHV: Inyo County Quarantine Released
The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) has announced that the equine herpesvirus-1 (EHV-1) quarantine in Inyo County has been released.
“Through repeated negative EHV-1 testing of confirmed cases, this premises has been released from quarantine,” the CDFA said Dec. 30, 2016.
This incident began Dec. 3, when a 20-year-old Quarter Horse gelding displaying mild neurologic signs of disease tested positive for the neuropathogenic strain of EHV-1.
“The gelding is part of a winter pack string of 28 horses and four mules,” the CDFA said
